The couple's visit to American Samoa is part of a Pacific-wide tour of various Rotary Clubs within District 9920. During their stay, they plan to tour several projects undertaken by the Rotary Club of Pago Pago and participate in club meetings.

Addressing the attendees, Smith said, "We feel humbled to be here. I hold you all up in esteem, and I mean that seriously. What you have done as a club in a place like this, what you have done with your Rotaract members, what you have done with your Interact members, is a bright beacon for me to talk about elsewhere. Well done."

Allan serves as the Governor of Rotary International's District 9920, which covers parts of Auckland, New Zealand, and the Pacific. Sue, an accomplished Rotarian in her own right, works as the NZ Operations Manager for ROMAC - Rotary Oceania Medical Aid for Children and volunteers for several organizations, including the Cancer Society.
