RCPP Sends TLC to OGG

September 1st, 2023 - On Friday, the Rotary Club of Pago Pago sent a gift of $5000 to the Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunrise. The American Samoa group sent the money along with well wishes as Maui, Hawai'i continues its recovery after destructive wildfires.

"We know that our fellow Rotarians in Lahaina Sunrise have a lot of hard work ahead of them. We hope this contribution helps," said Rotary Club of Pago Pago President Cherith Soliai.

The money was donated by the members and supporters of the Rotary Club of Pago Pago. A ceremonial check presentation was held at the club's regular meeting at Sadie's by the Sea.

The club has already received response from the Hawai'i Rotarians. President Ann Neizman of Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunrise said in an email, "This is absolutely amazing! This substantial donation to Lahaina Sunrise will help support our ongoing service projects and Lahaina Recovery support within our community. Mahalo to all your wonderful Rotarians of Pago Pago and KS Mart (Mr. Solip Hong). We so appreciate all of you for your thoughts and generosity."

RCPP Alumnus Paul Ratterman, now a Lahaina Sunrise member, also wrote, "Thanks so much for the club's most generous donation! Please extend our heartfelt gratitude to all members of my home club. One which holds a very special place in both mine and Una's hearts! Hope to see you all again soon. Your Rotary Brothers and Sisters are most appreciative and send their heartfelt love back to Pago Pago."
