August 8th, 2023 - The Rotary Club of Pago Pago was again acknowledged for excellence recently; this time for its efforts to publicize its work and mission of community service. The club received the coveted Publicity In Action Award from out-going District 9920 Governor Allan Smith.
As reported in the District Governor's most recent newsletter, the award was one of several presented by Smith as part of a breakfast event celebrating the accomplishments of the last Rotary year and welcoming incoming District Governor Vineeta Nand.
The Publicity In Action Award is bestowed for "the best public relations initiative that a Rotary Club in District 9920 undertakes within the year." This year, Rotary Club of Pago Pago shares the honor with the Rotary Club of Papatoetoe Central. Smith named Rotarians Joey Cummings and Manu Singh as the publicity leads for their respective clubs.
The Rotary Club of Suva East featured a photo of the Publicity In Action plaque on its Facebook page:
Rotary Club of Pago Pago President (& Queen) Cherith Soliai said, "A huge congratulations to our club. (This award acknowledges) all the publicity of Rotary's purpose and projects on our social media, radio and all of the events we hold. People of Action for sure! This is a well deserved achievement. I also want to thank 93KHJ for running the Rotary Brand Center ads that they sponsor for the Rotary Club of Pago Pago. Thank you also to our media team who are supporting the cause."
The Rotary Club of Pago Pago was also recently awarded the prestigious President's Rotary Citation for it's work in the 2022-2023 Rotary year.
