Hard Hats and High Hopes: Rotaract Club of Pago Pago Welcomes New Board of Directors

Updated: Aug 23

August 17, 2024 - The Rotaract Club of Pago Pago held its annual changeover event Saurday at Flying Fox Gastropub in Pava'ia'i. The group celebrated another successful year of community service and announced its new Board of Directors.

Rotaractors and Rotarians joined in the merrymaking with a Construction Zone themed changeover ceremony. This theme was inspired by the incoming President, Tessa Bridges, who works at a building supply company called Tool Shop. Attendees added a fun twist by dressing in brightly colored safety gear and hard hats.

The outgoing board, led by President Lui Lefiti, was celebrated for their dedication and achievements over the past year. Under Leilua’s leadership, the club successfully launched a community literacy program, organized a beach cleanup that attracted over 100 volunteers, and raised significant funds for local students.

As the evening progressed, the spotlight shifted to the incoming board. The new President and her team were formally introduced; all expressing their enthusiasm and commitment to building on the club’s legacy of service and leadership.

The new Board of Directors for Rotaract Club of Pago Pago (2024-2025) includes:

  • President: Tessa Bridges

  • Vice President: Anneliese Haleck

  • Secretary: Tiara Drabble

  • Treasurer: Lui Lefiti

  • Community Chair: Pua Tofaeono

  • Social Chair: Lottie Haleck

  • Fellowship Chair: Sina Canales

After the new board was announced, President Tessa greeted those gathered with words of encouragement. "Thank you Tiara and Lui for organizing this event tonight. Thank you to the previous board for your hard work and dedication. I'm grateful to everyone who came to support us. We're going to start fresh this year and have fun with organizing some new projects. At the end of the day it's all about service and our community."

Afterward, Tessa gave everyone in attendance a chance to share their favorite Rotaract and Rotary memories; encouraging each person to express why they enjoy serving with the club. Many laughs were shared and all heads nodded in agreement as each person expressed their gratitude.

As the new board takes the helm, the Rotary Club of Pago Pago wish our partner Rotaract club the very best for the upcoming year! Thanks for inviting us to such a fun occassion!
